Art by Matt Small

A slowed down fortnight for myself has given me the opportunity to delve even more into the music scene and I have found some absolute gems for the Music is Art readers!

FKA Twigs – Two Weeks

On the run up to FKA Twigs album release ‘LP1’ on Young Turks. This can only be described as her most powerful track to date, with sultry vocals and a electro infused beat to ignite a reaction beyond the music.

Caribou – Can’t Do Without You (Extended Mix)

The well received track from Caribou ‘Can’t Do Without You’ is in line for one of the most popular tracks of the summer. With my repeat button getting a bit tired from this track it was extremely excited to hear Dan Snaith has created an extended version of the popular track.

aywy. X Ekali – Another Girl

This collaboration has created magic. An atmospheric, downtempo beautiful piece of music, which works exceptionally for home listening or if you are still partying at 9am and it is all winding down.

KLO – False Calls

With KLO’s exceptional previous free download ‘Make Me Wonder’ over 3 months ago, I have been waiting keenly on the edge of my seat to see what they bring to the table next. Luckily, I was not disappointed the Melbourne based duo are bringing the heat again with their latest track ‘False Calls’. No release details have been set yet but hopefully they will soon.

Chet Faker x GoldLink – On You

It seems to be a tradition for me to involve a Chet Faker track in this rundown, but what can I say? He is killing it! This collaboration with GoldLink is no different as they deliver this track for the Adidas Original #songsfromscratch series.

FKJ – Waiting ft. Madelyn Grant

‘Waiting’ is the first official track the new EP ‘Take Off’, which will be released on July 21st via Roche Music. A fusion of sensational vocals from Madelyn Grant and FKJs production skills has combusted into a mind-blowing piece.

Indian Summer ft. Ginger & The Ghost – Shine

Indian Summer are known for their bass lines taking focal point in their music, which is why I have taken such a “shine” to their latest track. They have turned down their signature heavy on the bass approach and allowed the haunting vocals from coolGinger & The Ghost to carry the song through beautifully.
