Lapalux :: Don’t Mean A Thing

The electric atmospherics of Stuart Howard A.K.A. Lapalux were released this Spring on his second album Lustmore via Flying Lotus’s Brainfreeder imprint. Lapalux described his latest music and writing revolving around the term “hypnogogia” known as the “limbo between being awake and being asleep”.

Lapalux’s single “Don’t Mean a Thing” is a favorite on the album and originally premiered on Flying Lotus’s BBC Radio residency. Balanced with lush production, the structure of the song broods with a wavy mixture of a throbbing bass line against pleading grooves of hazy beats and heart wrenching vocal samples.
